I like to include validation, psychoeducation, and pop culture references in my sessions. My clinical approach is eclectic, which means that I include multiple approaches based on the individualized needs and experiences of my clients.
As a Latina, I understand the importance of upholding traditions and cultural values while also managing the pressure to acculturate to the US cultural norms. I believe that through therapy we can begin to heal the societal pressures, childhood traumas, and generational traumas.
Eli Beller, LSW | Bilingual Psychotherapist
Hello! My name is Eli Beller, and I am a bilingual psychotherapist at Latinx Talk Therapy. I obtained my BA in Spanish with a minor in Rhetoric and have an MA in Peace and Justice Studies. Additionally, I am a licensed social worker. I particularly value open lines of communication as I assist in identifying coping and defense mechanisms.
I take a trauma-informed approach to therapy, always considering the possibility that everyone has experienced some form of trauma. I value intersectionality, the idea that people’s various identities that face discrimination intertwine with those of others. I speak Spanish and English and am comfortable switching between the two languages.
Esmeralda Estrada, LPC
I’m a bilingual psychotherapist at Latinx Talk Therapy. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Registered Art Therapist (ATR). I like to include psychoeducation, Spanglish, and art in sessions. Words have power but they might not come easily which is why having the tools necessary to express your story is key; not only for sessions but for everyday life and I feel Art Therapy is a powerful tool for this process. My theoretical approach is Trauma-focused Cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), person-centered and psychoanalytic.
Daisy Gómez
Daisy Gómez is a bilingual bicultural first generation Latina therapist, speaker, life coach, consultant and educator from Chicago, Illinois. She is the Founder/CEO of Encuéntrate Counseling & Consulting.
She specializes in empowering first generation, high-achieving professionals and helping them overcome the challenges that come with it— imposter syndrome, stress, depression, anxiety, and generational trauma.
Daisy is passionate about destigmatizing mental health within communities of color. She aims to normalize the use of trauma informed culturally affirming approaches in all her work— therapy, coaching, teaching, and speaking engagements.

Multiple lines of evidence indicate that the COVID-19 pandemic has profound psychological and social effects. The psychological effects of the pandemic will probably persist for months and years to come. From social isolation, anxiety, fear of contagion, uncertainty, chronic stress, and economic difficulties. We may see an exacerbation of depressive, anxiety, substance use, and other mental disorders in vulnerable populations including individuals with pre-existing emotional issues. Coffee, Hip-Hop & Mental Health will explore this discussion with a panel of therapists, medical experts, and city officials.
